In nature, 1°C can make a big difference between ordinary and extraordinary; in this case a honey bee's fate is sealed whilst it is a young bee in it's pupae (a sealed wax cell). Those kept at 34°C emerge as "housekeeper bees" whilst those kept at 35°C become intelligent forager bees who leave the nest in search of pollen.
